Live-Fish Shipping
by Inen Neman

The internet has become a way of purchasing and selling
recently. Fish are one of those items that can be sold and
purchased over the internet. A key element in the buying
and selling of fish over the internet is shipping. The
idea of buying a live fish and having it shipped to you
and have it actually arrive alive and in good shape at an
economical price is the only that an internet market for
live fish would survive. So lets look at how we ship them.

A shipping box is also called a shipping pot. This is a
shield box that is necessary throughout the entire year.
Without this, the fish can become too hot during the summer
and too cold during the winter. A Styrofoam box containing
water can be used here. The best idea is to make your own,
but is can be bought. If you decide to make your own, buy
the foam with the blue stuff, because it has a higher
insulating level. The white stuff is less insulating.
Measure the inside of it, and cut your cardboard box into
the correct proportions.

It is necessary, in the winter time to keep the fish warm
during their passage using hot packs. To keep the fish
warm, it must have power for 35 hours. Before using
properly, try to heat them up. It can be dangerous for the
fish if you do not strap them adequately with the box. Make
sure there is a double layer of newspapers between box lid
and other things stored in the box.

for the fish to arrive in the best condition possible it
is recommended to not pack them up any sooner then is
necessary. to avoid any bad situations for the customer,
here are some packing tips for the fish themselves.
*For more space, use a larger plastic bag than a local
fish store would.
* Use care when putting the fish into the bag. It can
sometimes be quite difficult to place the fish from the
net into the bag. Be sure about your method.

* Tie the top end of the bag immediately bag. Use a rubber
band to make sure the seal is tight. turn the bag over
into a larger bag, and repeat the sealing process. Be
careful about the air element when using betas. As a
safety point here for the fish, pack extra space with a
bag of water, it's better for the fish, even though it
will cost more to ship.
*Marl the fish bag with permanent ink. Black markers are
generally used for this.
